Carla Connor (Alison King) was left devastated in Coronation Street when Chelsey and Jordan turned up on the cobbles with claims of revealing her secret, but she gets a similar shock in the coming episodes when she learns that there’s seemingly been an attack on her visitors.
Chelsey returned to the cobbles with Jordan in scenes broadcast this week, and demanded that she pay up for the drugs she destroyed last year.
However, Peter (Chris Gascoyne) interrupted and — as the week progresses — she lies about what the newcomers wanted. Scott escorts the pair out of the pub, and there are later reports of an attack on a man and a woman in a local estate.
Peter turns off the radio so that Carla doesn’t get wind of what has transpired, but she seemingly does so the following week.
With VE Day approaching, Carla takes it upon herself to decorate the Rovers, and as she does so, she thanks Scott for getting rid of Chelsey and Jordan.
Scott reckons she should be owing her gratitude to Abi (Sally Carman) more so than him, so she pays her a visit at the garage with a bottle of wine in hand — thanking the mechanic for fighting her corner.
Abi reveals that she’s got a past the she’s rather forget, and therefore she knows what it’s like and is glad she could offer support.
However, as Carla heads off, she spots the headline of the gazette — which reveals that there has been an assault on Brightwell Estate, and she begins to wonder if Chelsey and Jordan were the victims.
Later, she accuses Peter of carrying out the beating — showing him the gazette — but he’s offended by her accusations and denies what she’s claiming.
He assures a confused Carla that he wasn’t behind the attack, as he was at an alcoholics meeting when it took place.
The question is: if it wasn’t Peter… who did it?
