Money Heist’s Denver actor reveals truth behind maniacal laugh and how he bagged Netflix role – The Sun

MONEY Heist's Denver is a popular character on the crime series, most well known for his distinct laugh.

La Casa De Papel as its known in its native Spain, has become a worldwide smash for Netflix but there's one thing that is dividing audiences.

Daniel Ramos aka Denver (Jaime Lorente) is one of the original crew brought together the rob the Royal Mint and has been a fan favourite for his goofiness and big heart but has also become known for his maniacal laugh.

Lorente revealed he worked really hard to cultivate the bizarre sound, after casting directors marked it as really important for the character.

The actor improvised different laughs during his audition because the script called for Denver to have a "trashy laugh".

He told Identity Mag: “The laugh actually came up on the casting for the show.

“From the very beginning, they wanted Denver to have a unique and significant laugh.

“And what happened is that I kept trying different ones, I found this one and we settled on it. And that was probably the main reason I was selected for this role.”

Lorente was asked at a press event if his real laugh was like Denver's and he replied: "No, no, dear God if it was my laugh I would have tried to change it already."

Denver was part of the first heist in the Royal Mint alongside his dad Moscow (Paco Tous).

But Moscow died in the second season, and Denver got into a relationship with Stockholm and they eventually moved to Thailand where he started raising her son Cincinnati as his own.

Fans got excited this week when it was revealed the show would be coming back for a fifth season.

The streaming giant had kept the fate of the Spanish series under wraps until it released a short video showing actors prepping to return to work.

But in even more exciting news, actor Itziar Ituño who plays Lisbon let slip that viewers might even get to see how the long-running bank robbery ends in the upcoming season.

She said: "Well, it's like knowing how to finish the story," and then tied her her back in the character's iconic bun.

The most recent season showed the crew getting once step closer to pulling off their heist.

Along with confirming season five was happening, fans are also excited that one of their favourite characters might come back from the dead.

Pedro Alonso, who plays the role of Andrés de Fonollosa AKA Berlin – who died in season two – has admitted he could come back as fans speculate what will happen in season five.

Despite the season two finale, Berlin did reappear in the third and fourth instalments of the Spanish show – but in a variety of flashback scenes, and now fans are keen for more.

Addressing viewer's theories, the 48-year-old actor said: "After Berlin died, it was funny how it was impossible for a lot of people to believe he actually died.

"Some still insisted that he was going to come back to life, somehow."
